Rita Emily Augeri, 81, a resident of Wappingers Falls since 1995 and formerly of Flushing, died on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in the Manhattan on October 16, 1932, she was the daughter of Joseph and Louise Marcini Conti. Rita had been employed as a bookkeeper for Stephen Dante Cosmetics in Queens. She was a parishioner of St. Columba Church, Hopewell Junction.
On July 11, 1959 in Queens, Rita married Matthew J. Augeri who predeceased her on September 21, 2010. She is survived by her sister, Mary Conti of Hopewell Junction; her friend, Anna Strauch of Poughkeepsie; many nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Angie Granelli and Irma Valentine.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-6pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Interment will follow in St. Denis Cemetery.
