Rita M. McGinness, 85, a resident of the McClellan Home for Adults, died on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. An area resident since 2004, she formerly resided in New Rochelle.
Born in New York City on February 6, 1926, she was the daughter of Raymond and Florence Koster McGuire. She was employed as a clerk for the City of New Rochelle until her retirement in 2000. Rita was a parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church, Fishkill.
Rita is survived by her daughter, Grace Mastoras of New Rochelle; her son, Joseph Cashin and his wife Mary Jane of Marlton, NJ; and three grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Thomas in 1986.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 1pm in the Chapel of Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 10 West Stevens Avenue, Valhalla.
