Rita V. Sappe, née Villarreal, age 93, of Wappingers Falls, NY, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by her 4 daughters: Estela Patterson, Regina Hlavaty, Maria Sappe (sp. Brad Whiteman), and Victoria Sappe Seaboldt (sp. Jack); her grandchildren: Dannie, Devin, Jordan, Robin and Katrina; her siblings: Peter (Mary) Villarreal, Mary Lou Ortega, Frances Sotelo, Teresa Villarreal and Cindy Gonzalez.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Daniel R. Sappe.

Born December 7, 1931 in Aurora, Illinois, Rita is preceded in death by her parents Joseph S. Villarreal and Mary Guadalupe, née Mendoza, (Villarreal) Camarillo; her Villarreal brothers, Robert, Richard, Joseph, Michael and Edward.

Rita was a graduate of Bishop Noll High School, Hammond, IN. She enlisted in the U. S. Air Force, 1953-1956.

While proudly serving our country, she met the love of her life and relocated out East. Rita and Daniel married August 24, 1957 and spent many happy years together until his death in 1980.

She and Dan received their degrees from Pennsylvania State University. Rita taught a Spanish course in the Arlington Adult Education Program and then became an entrepreneur with her company, Villarreal Electronics. Through her 80's, Rita was an avid tennis player. Gifted with a very creative side, her talent was visible in the

Halloween costumes she made for her girls to the paintings she created as a self-taught artist. As an accomplished woman, her greatest achievement was raising her four daughters. After 1980, she became a single mother. Her presence will be deeply missed. May she rest in peace.
