POUGHQUAG – Robert Barrett Allen, a lifelong resident of Beekman, passed away on February 16, 2018 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Known by family and friends as Butch or Bob, he was born in Connecticut on October 12, 1938 to the late Harold and Louise (DeRose) Allen. He proudly served in the US Army and was stationed in Germany.

Bob owned and operated Allen's Tree Service since 1965. He enjoyed going to auctions for his additional business, Allen's Equipment. Bob also enjoyed family picnics and was passionate about his tree business.

Bob is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia Phillips Allen; his children, Brian Allen and Robin Lee Dempsey; 4 grandchildren, Brandon and John Moloney, Avary Allen, and Katie Lee Dempsey; his brother, Richard Allen of Poughquag; and his sisters, Patricia Allen and Faye Allen of Lehigh Acres, FL. He was also predeceased by his brother, John Allen.

Calling hours will be held from 6-8pm on Monday at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
