Robert
Bianco
January 6, 1947 – March 6, 2026
Robert A. Bianco (Bob), a Dutchess County resident since 1981, formerly of Staten Island, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026 at the Hudson Valley Hospice House in Hyde Park. He was 79.
Son of the late Carmen and Mary (Lonczynski) Bianco, he was born in Staten Island on January 6, 1947. Bob graduated from Curtis High School, received his bachelor's degree from Brooklyn College, and later earned a master's degree from Western Connecticut State University.
In 1966, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served until 1968, when he was honorably discharged from active service. He continued serving as a reservist until 1972.
Bob dedicated his career to teaching physical and health education. He taught and coached baseball at John Jay Senior High School and then became a physical education teacher at Mount Pleasant Cottage School in Pleasantville, retiring in 2010. Sharing the love of sports with his players, students, and community was the joy of his career.
More than anything else, however, Bob was dedicated to his family and especially cherished his four grandchildren. He was their greatest fan and most enthusiastic supporter. It was top of his mind, even when saying goodbye, that they continue to try hard and excel at everything they did - specifically their athletic endeavors, including karate, gymnastics, volleyball, swimming, basketball, softball, and boxing.
On August 26, 1972, he married Patricia Laub at St. Adalbert's Church in Staten Island. He is survived by Patricia at their home in Fishkill.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Mark Bianco & his wife Samantha of LaGrange; his daughter, Allison Davidson & her husband Timothy of Crompond; his grandchildren: Kayleigh Chin, Annabelle Davidson, Gracie Bianco, and Abigail Davidson; his brother, Paul Bianco & his wife Janis; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loving family members.
Calling hours will be held from 3:00pm to 7:00pm on Friday, March 13 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00am on Saturday, March 14 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill, NY 12524.
