Robert J. "Bob" Blaszak, 67, a lifelong area resident, died on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Putnam Hospital Center.
Born in Poughkeepsie on October 13, 1946, he was the son of the late Joseph and Irene Hart Blaszak. Bob was employed as an equipment technician for IBM, East Fishkill. He was a parishioner of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction. An avid golfer, Bob especially enjoyed riding on his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He loved Martha's Vineyard and spending time at the summer home that he built there.
On October 11, 1975 at St. Joseph's Church in New Windsor, Bob married Lorraine Norton who survives at home. He is also survived by his sons, Shawn Blaszak of Chicago, IL and Keith Blaszak and his wife Kelly of Maynard, MA; his grand dog, Fozzi; his sister, Carol Cooper and her husband Damon of MD; his brother, David Blaszak of SC; his brother-in-law, Gary Norton of Cornwall; his sister-in-law, Kathy Sylvester and her husband Paul of Las Vegas, NV; and several nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4-7pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
