Robert J. Carlock, 70, died at home in Fishkill on Tuesday, August 7, 2018.
Son of the late John and Marie (Nolan) Carlock, he was born in Brooklyn on July 21, 1948. For 35 years, he worked as a claims manager for the V.A. Medical Center in Manhattan until his retirement in 2003.
Robert was a longtime resident of Glendale, Queens and moved to Dutchess County in 2018. He was involved with many U.S. Civil War Organizations and visited battlefields throughout the country. He also enjoyed jazz music and was an avid New York Mets and New York Jets fan.
He was predeceased by his parents as well as his brother, John E. Carlock.
Survivors include his sister, Anne M. Unflat of Cold Spring; his nieces, Kristy Tilley & her husband Justin, Kerry Unflat & her husband Michael Cable, and Lauren Berry & her husband Kevin; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Ruby Tilley, Sophia Cable, Ethan Cable, and Finley Berry.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 10 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. Interment will follow at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
