Obituary

STORMVILLE - Robert Charles Civitano, 73, loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday morning, May 26, 2025 surrounded by his family.

Born in Mount Vernon on October 31, 1951, he was the son of the late Dominic and Anna Rose (Servidio) Civitano. Bob was a master machinist with a talent for fixing anything. He had been employed by Henry Schein and Midway Dental for more than 30 years until his retirement in 2022. He was also employed at the Veterans Administration Hospital-Montrose, where he met the love of his life Margaret Gloria Galgano in 1973.

Married on September 18, 1977, Bob is survived by his wife, Margaret (Peggy). They enjoyed 47 years of marriage as they shared in their love of their children, grandchildren, family, and friends. They resided in Cortlandt Manor before settling in Stormville, NY in 1986 to raise their four children. He is also survived by his children and their spouses, Robert Civitano Jr. and Brittany Bordeleau of San Diego, CA, Thomas Civitano of South Lake Tahoe, CA, Amanda and John Titus of Fishkill, NY and Megan and Mark Ruggeri of Newburgh NY; his grandchildren, Liliana and Charlotte Titus and Madelyn and Noah Robert Ruggeri; his sister and brother-in-law, Valerie and David Piersall of Stormville, NY, brother, Louis Civitano of Jefferson Valley, NY; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Louis J. Galgano III and Joan Del Cielo of Brewster, NY, Thomas and Kathleen Galgano of Garden City, NY, Joanne and George O'Donnell of Mercerville, NJ and Donna and John Wishnie of Exton, PA; and many nieces, nephews and close family friends. In addition to his parents and his father and mother in-law Louis and Gloria Galgano, he was also predeceased by his brother, Frank Civitano; his brother-in-law, Stephen Galgano; and his nephew Bennett Galgano.

Bob loved the outdoors, from going hiking to taking the family on memorable ski trips to just relaxing on the beach in Brigantine, NJ. He was an avid fan of his children and grandchildren, helping to coach soccer and baseball. Bob loved rock music and attended the Woodstock Music Festival in Bethel, NY in 1969.

Bob experienced excellent end of life home hospice care from Hudson Valley Hospice, Inc. He was a parishioner of St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 3-7pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday at 11am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction.
