Robert Adams Elliott, a Fishkill, NY resident since 2011, died at the Orange County Regional Medical Center in Middletown, NY on Friday, November 23, 2012. He was 85.
Son of the late William L. and Elizabeth Adams Elliott, he was born in Bronxville, NY on August 26, 1927. During High School, he succeeded in baseball and was scouted by both the New York Giants and New York Yankees. He was a lifelong devoted NY Yankees fan.
In 1946, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea. He was honorably discharged in 1947. For many years, he worked in the Human Resources Department at American Can Company in Greenwich, CT and retired in 1981.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Maureen DeAngelis of Fishkill, NY; his son, Thomas Elliott of Meriden, CT; his son, David Elliott & his wife Lisa of Forrest Hill, MD; his daughter, Diane Kehs & her husband John of Riegelsville, PA; his son, Peter Elliott of Fulton, MD; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; his sister, Eileen Petersen of Levittown, NY; his former wife, June Elliott of Allentown, PA; and several nieces & nephews.
He was predeceased in death by his brother, William J. Elliott.
Calling hours will be from 10am to 12:00pm on Thursday, November 29th at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill, NY. Interment with Military Honors will follow at St. Denis Cemetery in Hopewell Junction, NY.
