Robert M. Flandina, a resident of Beacon, NY, formerly of Cornwall, NY, Southfields, NY, and Waldwick, NJ, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Montefiore St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh, NY. He was 86.
Son of the late Frank and Lillian (DeLuca) Flandina, he was born in Manhattan on February 20, 1937. Bob was raised in the Astoria section of Queens. For many years, he worked as a self-employed printing sales professional.
Bob will be remembered for his great sense of humor and repertoire of jokes. He enjoyed many hobbies such as sailing, reading, cars, and dancing. Additional interests included boats, art, gardening, and spending time at his residence in Osprey, FL. He always enjoyed having a great meal, especially pasta dishes. More than anything else, Bob cherished spending time with his family.
On June 7, 1959, he married Lorraine Patagine in Astoria. Lorraine survives at home in Beacon.
Additional survivors include his daughter, Sharon Romano (Ron) of Fishkill, NY; his daughter, Lisa Summers (Mark) of Kinnelon, NJ and Gordonsville, VA; his daughter, Barbara Telfian (Greg)of Ramsey, NJ; his grandchildren, Gabrielle Romano (Travis Beatty), Jillian Saldana, Alec Summers (Jessie), Taylor Summers (Emily), Trevor Telfian, and Sarah Telfian; his great-grandchildren, Jaiden, Brielle, and Sam; his sister, Joan Sattanino (Dave); as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives & friends.
In addition to his parents, Bob was also predeceased by his brothers, John Flandina and Jerry Flandina.
Calling hours will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 30 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 1 at St. John The Evangelist Church, 31 Willow Street, Beacon, NY. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Babylon, NY.
