HOPEWELL JUNCTION - Robert (Bob) John Fleming, a Hopewell Junction resident for many years, died at home on December 27th, 2024. He was 69 years old.
He was born in Yonkers on June 14th, 1955, the son of the late Bill and Anne (Wylym) Fleming.
Bob was a 1973 graduate from John Jay High School, and a graduate of Dutchess Community College. Employed at IBM and Global Foundries for 42 years, as an Engineering Lab Specialist.
He was parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill.
Bob was an avid New York Yankees fan, a history buff, and an avid golfer. He was also the treasurer for the Hudson Valley Historical Miniatures Guild. He enjoyed going to classic car shows.
On May 12th, 1979, he married the love of his life, Delia Scecchitano at St. Marys in Fishkill. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Dee on January 6, 2018, and his sister-in-law Dina in 2016.
Survivors include sister Barbara and husband Scott Doolittle of Raleigh, NC, brother Bill Fleming & wife Terry Seymour of Pleasant Valley, NY, sister Patricia Jordan of Albany, NY, sister Carole & husband Tor Thomassen of Okatie, SC, . Dee's brother and sister, Dominic and Angela Scecchitano, and in-law Richard DiNapoli . Bob's nieces and nephews, Matthew Doolittle, Billy Fleming, Zackary Jordan, Natasha and Alex Thomassen, Carina, Ariana, Dominic, and Nicholas Scecchitano and his closest friends Curt, Frank, and Dave.
Bob was a caring, supportive, kind, and generous person, and will be remembered lovingly by his family and friends. He will always be in our hearts and thoughts.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, January 3rd at McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday January 4th at St. Mary Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill, NY 12524. Interment will follow at St. Denis cemetery.
