Robert E. Huber

Robert E. Huber passed away on May 25, 2026 at the age of 82. He was born on September 29, 1943 in Queens, NY to the late Herbert and Dorothy (Henn) Huber. On June 20, 1964 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Queens, he married his beloved wife Barbara (Javetski) Huber. They spent many happy years together until her death in 2019.

Bob worked as a Supervisor for Orange and Rockland Utilities for many years. He acted as President for O.R.R.A, the Orange and Rockland Retirement Association. He was an active parishioner as well as an usher at St. Columba Church.

Family was very important to him, and he greatly enjoyed spending time with all of his loved ones, especially his grandchildren.

He was the type to always have plans and loved to stay busy and active. He loved to travel, especially to Myrtle Beach and Georgia. He was a lover of music, especially Fleetwood Mac, and enjoyed going to concerts and shows. He enjoyed the casino, and cheering on his favorite teams, the Mets and the Jets. Bob also enjoyed going to the movies and out to eat. He was a frequent customer at Tiramisu in Hopewell Junction almost every Wednesday!

Bob is survived by his children: Robert M. Huber and his wife Tina, Joanne Huber-Sturans and her husband Robert, and Nancy Garibaldi and her husband David; his grandchildren: Brittany Huber and her fiancé Matt, Tyler Huber and his wife Marion, Jessica Huber and her husband Houston, Brad Spooner, Brianna Sturans and her fiancé Craig, Kaylee Sturans, Alexander Sturans, and Dashawn Greene, Nathaniel, David, and Lilianna Garibaldi; his great-grandchildren: Joséphine and Ophélie Huber; his loving partner of the past 4 years, Kathleen Amaro and her caring family; as well as other extended family.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday May 31, 2026 from 2-6 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home Inc. 895 Route 82 Hopewell Junction, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday June 1, 2026 at 11:30 am at St. Columba Church 835 Route 82 Hopewell Junction, NY.
