Robert Patrick Dilio, Jr., 55, an area resident for more than 30 years and formerly of Peekskill, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 16, 2010.
Born on December 18, 1954 in Peeksill, he was the son of the late Robert Dilio, Sr. and Dorothy Smallhorn. He was employed as a property manager for Hudson River Housing in Poughkeepsie and had formerly been employed by IBM, Poughkeepsie. He was a parishioner of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction, a member of the BPOE #2609 in Wappingers Falls and a baseball coach with East Fishkill Little League.  ‘Dil’ was an avid golfer and bowler, a lifelong Yankees fan and enjoyed gardening and hunting.

On October 17, 1992 at the Hyde Park Methodist Church, he married Mary Robin O’Connor.  Robin survives at home.  He is also survived by his son, Nicholas Patrick Dilio at home; his daughter, Danette Burnett of Poughkeepsie; his grandson, Sebastian;  his sister, Dawn Digilio of Cortlandt Manor; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
