Robert J. Licurse, 95, of Hopewell Junction, died on February 20, 2021 at home.
Born on September 3, 1925 in Lawrence, Robert was the son of Peter and Mary (Aselta) Licurse. Robert proudly served in the US Air Force during WWII. He owned and operated Robert J. Licurse Contracting in Hopewell Junction for over 30 years until his retirement.
On September 3, 1946 in Cedarhust, Robert married the love of his life, his wife of 75 years, Mary Flood. In addition to his wife, other survivors include 10 children, 25 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren. He was also predeceased by his grandchildren, Michael Sine, Eileen Sine, and Olivia Licurse; and his great-grandson, Gerard Brueggemann.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 10 am – 12 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday at 12:30 pm at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by burial at St. Denis Cemetery with military honors. Dress Code: Out of Respect for our Lord and God present in the most Blessed Sacrament of the altar, we request everyone dress in a modest, dignified fashion. We ask you to keep a Holy Silence in the Church and turn off all electronic devices.
PLEASE NOTE: In compliance with NYS guidelines, social distancing and face masks will be required. Since capacity may be limited, all attendees should be prepared for potential extended waiting periods.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you have a Mass offered in his name at your parish or make a memorial donation to Respect Life, Concerned Women for America (CWA), or American Family Association.
