Obituary

Robert Elbert Patrick, affectionately known as"Willie Greek", was called to rest and surrendered his spirit to Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2020 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He was born on July 3, 1945 in Olanta, South Carolina to Hattie L. Patrick.

A long time resident of Bronx, New York, Robert worked at various companies as a tractor trailer driver for over 40 years and retired from Sea Transfer Corp. in 2010. He enjoyed going to church, watching western television shows and movies, and playing chess with family and friends.

Robert was a devoted Christian, husband, son, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Because he felt that he needed to have a closer walk with God and grow closer to The Almighty who had kept him safe during his earthly life, Robert united with Fellowship Baptist Church in Bronx New York. He became very active with the ministry and would often quote his favorite scripture Psalm 23, "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want." Brother Patrick was ordained a Deacon with the Fellowship Baptist Church under the spiritual leadership of Rev. Dr. Fred Burrell.

Robert leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Mary Patrick of Bronx, NY; his children, Pamela (Maxie) Grainey of Florence SC, Robert (Lisa) Taylor of Florence, SC, Robert Patrick Jr. of Florence SC, Willie (Petra) Lewis of Manassas, VA, and Trina Manso of Wappinger Falls, NY; his grandchildren, Fredrick Patrick, Tyler Patrick, Vincent Johnson, Terrell Johnson II, Angelica McKenzie, Cindy Johnson, Eric Johnson, Vonn Lewis, Chazz Lewis, Ashley Manso, Tionna Manso, and Dionna Manso; his great grandchilden, Tamesha Johnson, Kaydran Johnson, Lala Johnson, Malon Hancock, Bria Hancock, Sanaa Wilson and Chelsea Lawrence; his siblings, Willie Mae (Reginald) Kelsey of Chicago, IL, Korrie (Carl) Knight of Lake City, SC, Addie Brand of Columbia, SC, and Larry McDowell of Summerville, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Hattie Patrick McDowell; his grandparents, Ruth Patrick and Charlie Gee; and his siblings, Elizabeth McDowell, Eugene McDowell and Shirley McDowell.

Robert has left his mark on each and every one that has come into contact with him. All of his family and friends will certainly miss him dearly. May the memories of Robert Elbert Patrick be a blessing to all who knew and loved him. May he forever "Rest in Peace."

A private interment will be held on Friday at Fishkill Rural Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
