Robert
Pirrelli
August 8, 1953 – November 6, 2025
Robert J. Pirrelli , a resident of Hopewell Junction for the past 30 years, passed away on November 6, 2025. He was 72 years old.
Born on August 8, 1953, in the Bronx, NY, Robert was the son of the late Robert F. and Viola (Palladini) Pirrelli.
On May 20, 1989, Robert married the love of his life, Nerina (Bruni), at Church of the Holy Family in the Bronx. They shared 36 wonderful years together.
Robert spent his entire working life doing what he loved - driving trucks. His career began with the NYPD Highway 1 Unit in the Bronx as a tow truck operator, followed by positions with Anchor Motor Freight in Tarrytown, Coca-Cola Enterprises in Elmsford, and various construction companies as a heavy equipment operator. He later drove for JB Hunt Trucking as a tractor-trailer driver until his retirement, and most recently worked at Hatfield Metals in Poughkeepsie. His trucking career spanned over 40 years, and he took great pride in every mile he drove.
Robert had a passion for golf and was a past member of the Beekman Country Club golf league. He also enjoyed gardening, maintaining his home, and could fix just about anything. Always ready to lend a helping hand, Robert was the kind of person friends and family could count on. He also loved traveling to the Calabria region of Italy with his wife to visit her family, where he enthusiastically took part in Italian Christmas celebrations and traditions.
In addition to his beloved wife, Nerina, Robert is survived by his brother-in-law Leonardo Bruni; sisters-in-law Fenesia Abate and Elizabeth Pirrelli; nephew Robert Pirrelli; niece and goddaughter Kaitlyn Pirrelli; nephew Giuseppe Bruni and his wife Katia Bisignano; niece Carolina Bruni and her husband Gianni Barone; and great-nephews Leonardo Bruni and Florindo Barone.
He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Ronald Pirrelli.
