Obituary

Robert B. "Bob/Bobby" Pitkat, 58, of Hopewell Junction and formerly of Brewster, entered into eternal rest at his home on Friday, June 12, 2015 after a long, courageous battle with lung cancer. He was surrounded by his beloved wife Cynthia (Crocco) Pitkat, his son Jagger Pitkat, his son Jeffrey Moloney, and his mother-in-law, Agnes (Sousa) Crocco.

Bob will be remembered for his sense of humor and the love in his heart. Even during his final moments, he never could pass up the chance to make a joke. He was a perfect, loving husband and father and will be missed greatly by all those who were ever blessed to have met him.

Bob was born on February 13, 1957 to Robert "Bob" and Shirley (Cunningham) Pitkat from Brewster, NY and Ocala, FL, who predeceased him. He was also predeceased by his daughter, Diamond Pitkat; and his father-in-law, Benjamin Crocco.

In addition to his wife Cynthia, sons Jagger and Jeffrey, and mother-in-law Agnes, Bobby's family includes his sisters-in-law, Diana Crocco and Deborah Renner, her husband Donald and their children Jaclyn and Joshua; and his brother-in-law, Edward N. Crocco, his wife Cathy and their children, Christopher (Daniella), Andrew (Katie), Claudia and Daniel.

Additional family members include his daughter Tara and her three children; his beloved brother Joseph of San Diego, CA; his sisters, Jen Murphy, her husband Charlie and their children Danny and Katie, and Kate Bargh, her husband John and their children Michael and Christopher; his aunt Mary Hogan; and numerous other family members and friends who were also family to Bob.

Bob had been employed by Dutchess ARC, Powers Fasteners, Sheet Metal Local #38 in Brewster and Local #38 in Albany, as well as Hudson Valley Powder Coating, Inc. of Wappingers Falls. He also had worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

After his diagnosis, Bob enjoyed his volunteer work at Motorcycle Pedia in Newburgh where he spent many hours conducting tours, making good friends, and having such joy in talking about his compassion for motorcycles. PS – He's riding his Harley and doesn't have to worry about wearing his helmet!

Bob's family would like to thank Dr. Ariel Fischer and his nurse Sue at MKMG (formerly MHMG) for their ongoing devotion to Bob's care; to Hospice and his visiting nurses Deanne, Kristine and the other Hospice staff; and to Micah Katz from Ezras Choilim Health Center in Monroe for their love and support during this time.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday from 4-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday at 10am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Bob has requested that donations be made to his son Jagger so that he may continue with his nursing degree. Please make checks payable to Jagger Pitkat, and mail c/o McHoul Funeral Home, PO Box A, Hopewell Junction, NY 12533.
