HOPEWELL JUNCTION – Robert R. VanTassell, Jr., 66, a lifelong area resident, died on November 23, 2018 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in Poughkeepsie on August 14, 1952, Robert was the son of the late Robert and Loretta (Schwartz) VanTassell. He was employed by Local #1000 in Poughkeepsie for over 15 years.
On October 15, 2005 in Poughkeepsie, Robert married Rose (Carbillano) VanTassell who survives at home. He is also survived by his children, Keith VanTassell of Hyde Park, Dylan VanTassell of Hyde Park, David Haynes and his wife Meghan of Spring, TX, and MSG Michelle Jackson, USAF and her husband SSgt Melvin Jackson, USAF of Little Rock, AR; his grandchildren, Nicholas and Rowen VanTassell, Katelyn VanTassell, Lulu and Angelo Haynes, Kiera and Timothee "TJ" Brent, and Oliver Jackson; his siblings, Louis VanTassell, Sandy Haight, Sally Guarino and her husband Paul, Jimmy VanTassell and his wife Terry, and Mary Reece and her husband Mike; and many nieces and nephews.
