Obituary

Robert A. Walsh, 84, a resident of East Fishkill since 1986 and formerly of Destin, Florida, died on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh.

Born in New York City on April 11, 1928, he was the son of Albert and Helen Quinn Walsh. He proudly served our country in the US Navy and had been employed by both the New York City Police Department and New York City Fire Department until his retirement in 1975. He had been a member of the Elks Club in Destin, Florida.

He is survived by his children, Susan Harrison and her husband Bill of NC, Robert Walsh and his wife Georgia of VA, Ronald Walsh and his wife Mary of Wappingers Falls, Grace Ann Walsh of WA, Kathleen Walsh of Wappingers Falls, Helen Abel and her husband Scott of WA, and James Walsh of TX; his grandchildren, Greg, Brian, Colin, Robyn, John, Christine, Patricia, Matthew, Shannon, Erin, Alison, Amber, and Austin; his 6 great-grandchildren; his brother, Albert Walsh of NY and sister, Ruth Klein of NY. He is predeceased by his wife, Grace Walsh.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 2 – 5 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10:00 am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY 12533 followed by interment at St. Denis Cemetery.
