Obituary

HOPEWELL JUNCTION – Rev. Dr. Robert E. Wisor, 76, a resident of Hopewell Junction since 1979, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, July 29, 2014 at home. He formerly lived in Elk Grove Village, IL, Jarrettsville, MD, Essex, MD and Moses Lake, WA.

Born in Mansfield, OH on April 12, 1938 to the late Paul and Anna (Mitchell) Wisor, he was raised in Clearfield, PA. Rev. Wisor proudly served our country in the US Army from 1956-1963. On July 27, 1957 in Essex, MD, he married Elizabeth "Betty" Jogereit. Mrs. Wisor predeceased him on March 25, 2012.

Rev. Wisor began his lifelong career working in his grandparent's coal mine and farm in PA. He earned the rank of an Eagle Scout as a teenager and later on became a Boy Scout leader. He was the owner and operator of The Wisor Computer Center in Hopewell Junction since 1983. He had also been previously employed by Bethlehem Steel in PA, Martin Marietta, Harry T. Campbell Concrete, The Baltimore Sun in MD, Moody Bible Institute in IL, Christian Herald Magazine and Reliable Automatic Sprinkler in NY. He maintained the stats for the Baltimore Colts. He was instrumental in writing the Cobol business module and helped invent the first touch screen keyboard for McDonalds. Rev. Wisor also worked as a consultant for IBM AIX 6000 System and IBM Blue Gene Project.

Rev. Wisor was dedicated to ministering and did so for many organizations, especially Baltimore Rescue Mission, Kairos Prison Ministry, New Life Bible Institute, Transformation Life, Walter Hoving Home, and many nursing homes throughout Dutchess County.

Rev. Wisor lived a long life and was devoted to his faith. He received his Doctorate degree from the Andersonville Theological Seminary in Camilla, GA in 2005. He also travelled to India to share the Gospel. Rev. Wisor was the Pastor at the Beekman Baptist Church for over 21 years until his retirement in 2011.

He is survived by his children, Scott Wisor of Hopewell Junction and Sandra Wisor of Wappingers Falls; his grandson, Steven Wisor of Hopewell Junction; his sister, Paula Hall and her husband Glenn of New Smyrna Beach, FL; his niece, Olivia Hall; his step-father, Robert Graber of Orlando, FL; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Home Going Celebration will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the Beekman Baptist Church, 1068 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction with viewing hours from 1PM to 3PM at the Church. The service will begin at 3PM with a luncheon to follow after burial at Clove Valley Cemetry. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chapel Falls Christian Fellowship, 4 Nancy Court, Suite#8, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.
