Roberta Emily Sterling, 83, a resident of Stormville since 1977 and formerly of Yorktown and the Bronx, died peacefully at her home on April 21, 2026.
Born in Manhattan on January 27, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Slonski) Radke. Roberta had been employed as a Senior Computer Customer Data Analyst for Reader's Digest until her retirement after 15 years of service.
Roberta was a member of All Sport in Fishkill where she enjoyed their water classes. A former bowler, she also looked forward to trips to local casinos and Atlantic City where she played the slot machines and enjoyed the beach. For many years, she visited Crown Point, NY and Canada with close friends. She will forever be remembered as a loving, selfless, warm and sociable mother.
Roberta was the beloved wife of 53 years to Dennis J. Sterling who served in the US Air Force from 1968-1972 during the Vietnam War. He worked at Reader's Digest as a computer analyst for 13 years from 1973-1986 before leaving to work for the Bank of NY for 20 years from 1986-2006, retiring as Assistant Treasurer.
She is also survived by her children, John H. Sterling and Laura S. Sterling. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her brothers, Richard, Henry and Ronald Radke.
Private services were held at the family's home.
