Obituary

Robyn Ann Credo passed away on November 1, 2024 after a long and difficult battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was 76.

Born Robyn Ann Fritsch in Englewood, New Jersey on November 22, 1947. She later moved to New York and lived in Highland, Hopewell Junction, Pleasant Valley and LaGrangeville. She married Thomas E. Credo in 1966 and had two daughters, Kathryn and Jennifer. Their union ended in 1982 and Thomas Credo passed in 1992.

Professionally, Robyn found her niche in real estate. She became a licensed agent in 1978 and an associate broker in 1984. She received the designations of CRB, ABR, SRES and GRI. She distinguished herself in these roles for over 40 years. She was president of the Dutchess County Association of Realtors in 1998 and 2004.

Robyn was deeply involved in her community, volunteering her time at food drives, Adopt-A-Family, Christmas in July, Habitat for Humanity and Rotary clubs. She was Rotarian of the Year in 2010 (LaGrange).

Robyn loved plants and gardening. She never met a seed she couldn't cultivate and propagate in the garden or on a sunny windowsill. Her gardens over-flowed with tomatoes, pumpkins, squash beans and peas. It brought her immense joy.

Fiercely independent and fearless, Robyn was a force to be reckoned with. She thought nothing of starting up a rope-start chainsaw to cut down a tree, splitting firewood with a sledgehammer and wedge or climbing on the roof to clean out the gutters. She was an avid skier, bicyclist and hiker. She loved music, holidays, dancing, animals, nature, chocolate, coca-cola, sarcasm and the ocean. Her bright smile and boisterous laugh will be greatly missed.

Robyn is survived by daughter Kathryn Conners and husband Richard of Poughkeepsie; daughter Jennifer Lawlor of Wappingers Falls; sister Mary Partow and husband Dave of Vero Beach, FL; sister Margaret Soltis and husband Joe of Olive Bridge; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her sister Bonnie McDonald of Little Rock, AR. Robyn's daughter Kathy would like to thank Robyn's friends and colleagues who graciously assisted her in her later years when her memory started to fail, always treating her with dignity and respect.

Services will be private. A ceremony celebrating Robyn's vibrant life will be held in the Spring at her favorite vacation spot, Long Beach Island, NJ.

Donations can be made in Robyn's memory to the Alzheimer's Association for the care, support, research, awareness and advocacy of this terrible disease.
