Roger W. Pine, a lifelong area resident, died on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at his home, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with Interstitial Lung Disease.
Born in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. on July 2, 1937, he was the son of Walter C. and Catherine A. Schade Pine. He graduated from New York University and served in the US Air Force. He was employed as a Financial Advisor for more than 40 years with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. Roger was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Poughkeepsie. He was also a member and past President of the Fishkill Rotary Club, a member of the Southern Dutchess Exchange Club, and The Southern Dutchess Chamber of Commerce.
On June 23, 1962 in Poughkeepsie, Roger married Linda Bressler Pine, who survives at home. He is also survived by his children, Kimberly Koenig of Kingston, Michelle Hover and her husband Glenn of Fishkill, Brandon Pine of Fishkill and Nicolle Pine-Marto and her husband John of LaGrange; his grandchildren, Alexandra, Kyle, Max, Nicholas, Liam, Sean and Vanessa; his brother, Gordon C. Pine and his wife Mia of Woodstock, VT; and several nieces and nephews. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 5th from 2 to 6 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 6th at 11 am at the funeral home followed by entombment in Fishkill Rural Cemetery with Military Honors.
