Obituary

Roger F. Vitolo, 56, a resident of Wappingers Falls since 1993 and formerly of Yonkers, died peacefully at his home on Monday, July 28, 2014 following a four month battle with lung cancer.
Born in Yonkers on June 27, 1958, he was the son of Francis and Marian Corbetta Vitolo. Roger served as a Battalion Chief for the City of Yonkers Fire Department until his retirement in 2011. He enjoyed skiing, golfing and boating, and was an avid fan of the New York Giants and Mets. He will forever be remembered as a devoted family man who was loved and will be missed by all.
On November 19, 1983 in Scarsdale, Roger married Ellen Connolly who survives at home. He is also survived by his children, Tom and Katie; his siblings and their spouses, Carol & Charlie, Barbara & Joe, Frank & Judy; his mother-in-law, RoseMarie Connolly; his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Pat.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction with a memorial reception celebrating Roger's life immediately following.
