Romano A. Capparelli, 59, a resident of East Fishkill since 1983 and formerly of New Rochelle, died on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in Altomonte, Calabria, Italy on May 9, 1952, he was the son of Vincenzo and Rosa Regina Capparelli. He was a driver for DNR Oil Company in Wappingers Falls.
On June 14, 1998, Romano married Deborah Torres who survives at home. He is also survived by his children and grandchildren, Tina Oppedisano, her husband, Rocco and children, Isabella, Nicholas and Christopher of New Rochelle, Anthony Capparelli of New Rochelle, Krystle Capparelli , her fiance Christopher Surcai and children, Abby, Nicky and Ariana of Schenectady and Joseph Capparelli of Albany; his stepson, Ahmid Abdelrahman of Hopewell Junction; his siblings, Pasqualina Vitinitti, Giovannina Cortese, Giuseppina Rizzo and Umberto Capparelli; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Antonio, John and Luigi Capparelli and his sister, Maria Iebba.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
