EAST FISHKILL – Romas J. Abraitis, 71, died on December 8, 2018 at his home. He was a resident of Hopewell Junction since 1984 and formerly resided in New Windsor.

Born in Hochheim, Germany on April 4, 1947, he was the son of Josef and Alexandra (Fedorowska) Abraitis. Romas proudly served our country in the US Air Force and was employed as an Engineer with IBM in East Fishkill for 30 years until his retirement in 2003.

On August 26, 1979 in New Windsor, Romas married Ann Marie (Townsend) Abraitis who survives at home. In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Marcus and Jean Marie Abraitis of Drexel Hill, PA; his grandson, Dmitri Abraitis; his siblings, Grazina Beck of Coatesville, PA, and Vytautas "Jack" Abraitis and his wife Elizabeth of Belmeade, NJ; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2-4pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction with a funeral service at 4pm.
