MILLERTON – Ronald N. Graves, 80, a resident of Millerton for 14 years, died on December 13, 2018 at his home. He previously lived in Brewster.
Born in Syracuse on June 28, 1938. Ron was the son of the late Roswell and Ruth (Hartung) Graves. Ron proudly served in the US Navy. He had been employed as a Pipe welder with the Operating Engineers for Local 137 in Briarcliff Manor and Local 15 in New York City until his retirement.
On April 12, 1969 in LaFayette, Ron married Carol (White) Graves who survives at home. He is also survived by his children and their spouses, Timothy and Joan Graves of Tucson, AZ, Kevin and Pat Graves of New Fairfield, CT, Marceleen and Mark Prevatil of Phoenix, AZ, Heather and Michael Boylston of Pleasant Valley, and Denis and Janet Graves of Stormville; his grandchildren, Travis and Dillon, Veronica and Shawn, Joseph and Cassandra, Michael Jr. and Bryan, Abigail, Lily, Tyler, and Connor, and Briana; his great-grandchildren, Leo, Wren, Ashlyn, Kinsley, and Scarlet; his brother, Lee Graves; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ron was also predeceased by his brothers, Kyle and David Graves.
An avid golfer, Ron also enjoyed teaching his grandchildren how to weld. He loved the Lord and his family, and will be remembered by all who knew him for his dedication to serving others.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 1-5 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Naval Honor Guard will conduct military honors at 5 pm. In keeping with Ron's wishes, the family will be having a private green burial at Rhinebeck Cemetery.
