Obituary

Ronald Frank Gurecki, 64, a resident of the Town of East Fishkill since 1981, formerly of Queens Village and Greenpoint, Brooklyn, died at home on Tuesday, November 23, 2010.
Born in Brooklyn on July 5, 1946, he was the son of the late Charles and Jean Pankowski Gurecki. In 1966, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country until being honorably discharged in 1968. On September 22, 1968, Ronald married Helen Wizbicki at St. Stanislaus Kostka in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Mrs. Gurecki survives at home.
For 25 years, he owned and operated G-Wiz Communication and had formerly been employed by NY Tel and AT&T. Ronald was a member of St. Columba Church and the American Legion.
His favorite holiday was the 4th of July, and his fascination of fireworks earned him the nickname "Sha-Boom". He truly loved being in the company of his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, additional survivors include his four daughters, Mary Jean Giustino & her husband Michael of Hopewell Junction, Theresa Gurecki & her fiancé Tim Hudson of Mt. Kisco, Deborah Burns & her husband Dan of Massachusetts, and Lenore Thomas & her husband Michael of FL; his grandchildren, Michael R., Peter F., & Joseph A. Giustino, Helena K. Hudson, Colleen & Abigale T. Burns, and Haleigh V. Thomas; his sister, Gloria Gurecki of Greenpoint, Brooklyn; his sister-in-law, Frances Scanlon & her husband Gerard of Queens; his brothers-in-law Peter Wizbicki of Queens and Edward Wizbicki & his wife Doris of Levittown; and his nieces and nephews, Gerard & Stacy Scanlon and Laura & Paul Wizbicki.
Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, followed by interment with Military Honors at St. Denis Cemetery.
