Ronald M. Lombardi, 73, a resident of Lake Worth, FL and Hopewell Junction, died on June 2, 2016 at JFK Medical Center in Atlantis, FL.
Born on October 2, 1942 in the Bronx, he was the son of Bernard and Annette (Cerreto) Lombardi.
Ron was a physical education teacher and head football coach at Horace Mann School in Riverdale. He was the Athletic Director and head football coach at Bishop Gibbons High School in Schenectady. Over the years, Ron was a football coach at Fordham Prep in the Bronx, Our Lady of Lourdes High School in Poughkeepsie and Roosevelt High School in Yonkers. He was a parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill and a member of the Sons of Italy – Joe DiMaggio Lodge #2248.
On June 5, 1965, Ron married the love of his life, Marie at St. Barnabas Church in the Bronx. In addition to his wife of 51 years, Ron is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Vincent McCabe of Hopewell Junction; his grandchildren, Michael, Vincent, Teresa, Ronald, and Andrew; his brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Karol Lombardi of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Bernie and Judy Lombardi of Hopewell Junction; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday at 11:30am at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 103 Jackson Street, Fishkill.
