HOPEWELL JUNCTION - Ronald E. McGowan, 91, an area resident for over 50 years, died on August 20, 2025, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born on October 1, 1933, Ronald was the son of the late Richard and Margaret (Schmidt) McGowan. In addition to his parents, Ronald was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Eberth McGowan in 2019; and his sister, Patricia. He is survived by his children, and their spouses, Susan McGowan and Philippe Jolivalt, Keith and Nancy McGowan, and Peter and Kathleen McGowan; his grandchildren, Kalin McGowan, Kendra McGowan, Michael McGowan, Katie Goodwin, Molly Trombly, and Nina Jolivalt; his great-granddaughter, Emma Jane Goodwin; his brother, Richard McGowan; and many nieces and nephews.

He proudly served in the US Air Force. Ronald retired as Controller from IBM in East Fishkill. He also worked in Paris and Armonk NY. While Ronald worked in Paris, he enjoyed traveling with his children to different parts of Europe and the world. Ronald also enjoyed playing guitar, and bike rides and hiking with his family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY 12533 followed by internment at St. Denis Cemetery, 604 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction, NY.
