Ronald Alan Roberts, a Dutchess County resident since 2018, formerly of Peekskill, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025 at MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie. He was 83.

Son of the late David and Irene (Liebowitz)Roberts, he was born in the Bronx on April 15, 1941. Ronald graduated from Heidelberg University in Germany, and later earned a Master of Social Work degree from City University of New York. As a social worker for the City of New York, he dedicated his entire professional career in service to others and retired in 1997.

Ronald will be remembered for his unique personality and independent spirit. He was an intellectual critical thinker with a wide knowledge of many different topics. As a film buff, he developed an affinity for older movies as well as foreign films. He was a music aficionado who firmly reminded his family and friends that no other genres could ever come close to the immense quality of his personal favorites, jazz and classical (with the exception of The Beatles). He was truly a fascinating and engaging person.

Ronald is survived by his son, Michael Batt & his wife Gallia of Pound Ridge, NY; his daughter, Yliana Franco & her husband Nicholas of Wappingers Falls, NY; his son, Nick Roberts; his grandchildren: Dylan, Olivia, and Serafina; his brother, Stuart Roberts; as well as his former wife & longtime friend, Sonia Roberts; and many other loving family members.

In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by two brothers, Barry and Martin Roberts.

Services will be private at this time.
