Obituary

Ronald Emil Tytlar , Sr. was born on February 23, 1939 in the City of Yonkers, the son of the late Lillian (East) Tytlar and Emil S. Tytlar. He died peacefully at the NYS Veterans Home on January 5, 2026 following a long illness.

He is survived by the love of his life, Lucille (Spano) Tytlar , his wife of 65 years, and his three children, Anne Marie, William A., and Ronald E. Jr. He is also survived by his brother, Emil R. Tytlar, his sisters-in-law, Paula Tytlar, Patricia (Spano) Flotta and Michele A. Krenza; and brother-in-law, Martin J. Krenza. He was a proud grandfather of Roxanne, Rachel and Michael.

Ronald attended Yonkers schools and was a graduate of Westchester Community College. He joined the US Navy in 1956 and proudly served on the USS Charles R. Ware until his honorable discharge in 1958.

Ronald served proudly in law enforcement for 28 years as a Deputy Sheriff, Officer in the Courts, and for 22 years as a Westchester County Police Officer until he retired in 2001.

He was a member of the A.A. Rauso Post #40, Tin Can Sailors, Fraternal Order of Police, the Shomokin Sports Club and the Charles R. Ware Memorial in Athens, TN. He was a true outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and especially spending time with his family.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 7 from 3- 8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian burial will be offered on Thursday, January 8 at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery with military honors.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
