Rosaria Mannino-Apap of Port St. Lucie, FL formerly from Pawling, NY, passed away on June 11, 2023, at Treasure Coast Hospice in Fort Pierce, FL. She was 83 years old.
Rosaria was born in Sicily on June 16, 1939, the daughter of Guiseppe and Anna (Buffa) Ruffino.
After immigrating to the United States, Rosaria worked as a dressmaker for many different factories throughout Brooklyn.
Rosaria was a devout Catholic and was a parishioner of Blessed Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Port St. Lucie, Fl and while in New York she attended St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill, NY. She also dedicated her time volunteering for the St. Vincent De Paul food pantry.
On April 9, 1994, Rosaria married her beloved husband George Apap at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Shrub Oak, NY. He survives at home.
In addition to her husband, Rosaria is survived by her children: Anna Maria Bossi, Laura Bertocci and her husband John, Michael Apap, Maria Ruggiero, Anna Trainor and her husband Brian, George Apap, Janet Fletcher and her husband Nick, Susan Apap and Stephen Apap his wife Jessica. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Dario Bertocci and his husband Ryan O'Rourke, Alina Vizioli and her husband Tony, Alexsandra Pustorino and her husband William, Victoria Calamito and her husband Nicholas Banas Michael Ruggiero, Angela Ruggiero, Matthew Trainor, Mark Trainor, Patricia Trainor and Catlin Trainor, Julia Apap, Daniel Apap, Della Apap, Daniella Apap and Benjamin Apap. Great-Grandchildren: Christian Vizioli, Rosaria Calamito, Robert Pustorino, Thomas Joseph Pustorino, Michael Ruggiero and Jaxson Ruggiero. Rosaria is also survived by her siblings: Anne Trotta and her husband Albert, Sal Ruffino, Anna Randazzo and her husband Lino and Linda Ruffino, her honorary daughter Karen Gordon and all her beloved nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her first husband Joseph Mannino, her parents Guiseppe and Anna (Buffa) Ruffino, her sisters Josephine Marchiano and Marie Mannino, her brothers, John Ruffino and Phil Ruffino and her son-in-law Lawrence Kraus.
Calling hours will be at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill Inc. 1089 Main Street, Fishkill on Friday June 16, 2023, from 1pm-5pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday June 17, 2023, at 10am, at St. Mary, Mother of the Church 106 Jackson St., Fishkill, NY. Entombment to follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park, 101 Mill Street, Putnam Valley, NY.
