POUGHKEEPSIE – Rosaria Thompson, a local area resident since 2012 and formerly of Jaffrey, NH and Brooklyn, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 in Fishkill. She was 87.
Daughter of the late Giuseppe and Mary (Vultaggio) Fodera, she was born in Brooklyn on June 30, 1933. Rosaria worked as a live-in health care aide for many years until her retirement in 1983. Her hobbies included knitting, cooking, and watching football.
On August 8, 1983, she married Lawrence Thompson in Jaffrey, NH. Rosaria was predeceased by her husband on November 29, 2000.
She is survived by her brother, Peter Fodera & his wife Barbara of Lyman, ME as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives & friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by her sister, Libonia Fodera (2017); her brother, John Fodera, Sr. (2020); and her sisters, Fannie Badami (2017) and Frances Schicchi (2020).
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 25 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 26 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill. Interment will be held at a later date at Conant Cemetery in Jaffrey, NH.
