Rose B. Davis, 78, an area resident since 1954 and formerly of Yonkers, died on Monday, December 13, 2010 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie.
Born in Hartford, CT on August 19, 1932, she was the daughter of Louis and Margaret DiBernardi. She was employed in the Finance Department for IBM in East Fishkill. Rose was a parishioner of St. Columba Church and a member of the Widow and Widowers Group and the East Fishkill Seniors.
On January 5, 1952 at St. Joseph's Church in Yonkers, Rose married LeRoy Davis who predeceased her on September 6, 1994. She is survived by her daughters, Janet Virtue of Hopewell Junction, Joyce Davis and her husband Rino Bresa of Astoria and Judy Syslo and her husband Stephen of Hopewell Junction; her grandchildren, Timothy Virtue, Stephanie Sierra, Nicole, Ryan and Aubrie Syslo; her great-grandson, Elijah Steven Sierrra; her sister, Elva Trocone and her husband John of FL; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her son-in-law, Steven A. Virtue on March 28, 2010 and her brother and his wife, Louis and Peggy DiBernardi.
Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
