Rose "Tootie" Facchiano, a two-year resident of Dutchess County, formerly of Rockland County and the Bronx, died at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie on Wednesday, March 16, 2016. He was 80.
Daughter of the late Dominick and Ellen (Walsh) Friscia, she was born in the Bronx on June 6, 1935. She worked as a bookkeeper her entire life. Her hobbies included reading, baking, knitting, and she enjoyed music and dancing. She was also an avid NY Yankees fan. She loved her grandchildren, and she was a kind-hearted and generous spirit.
On June 22, 1957, she married Anthony Facchiano at St. Angela Merici Church in the Bronx who predeceased her on December 23, 2015.
Survivors include her daughter, Laura Stinziano & her husband John of Fishkill; her daughter, Susan Giordano of Florida; her son, Joseph Facchiano of Fishkill; her grandchildren, Dana Newton & her husband James, Christina Anselmo & her husband Justin, Michael Cherubini, Brandon Facchiano, Brett Facchiano, Kaila Facchiano, Christopher Stinziano, and Kyle Facchiano; her great-grandchildren, Kailey and James; her brother, Joseph Friscia of Las Vegas. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives & friends.
Rose was predeceased by her son-in-law, Anthony Giordano.
Calling hours will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 19th at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 19th at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill.
