Rose Ellen Manno, a resident of Fishkill and previously of Astoria, Queens passed away on March 29, 2019.

Born on May 15, 1947 in Brooklyn, New York, Rose was the daughter of Estelle and Antonio Manno. She was one of six children.

Rose worked for 15 years for Catholic Charities of NYC until her retirement in 1998.

She was a dedicated, loving mother and grandmother. Rose loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She also loved dancing, making new friends and making crafts. She also had a beautiful singing voice.

Rose was predeceased by her brothers Salvatore and Frank.

She is survived by her son Cesar Alvarez and his wife Demetria of Hopewell Junction, New York; her grandsons, Alexander of Jacksonville, NC and Nicholas of Hopewell Junction of whom she was very proud; her sister, Connie Manno of Queens; her brothers Joe Manno of Clemmons, NC, and Anthony Manno of San Francisco, CA; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins who loved her dearly.

Rose was a happy outgoing person who was stronger than she knew, with a feisty spirit. Everyone who met her, loved her and she will be greatly missed.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 10am-12pm at McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be held at 12pm followed by interment at Hopewell Cemetery.
