Rose Ann Scott, 92, died on September 19, 2024. A resident of Greenwich, NY, she had previously lived in Hopewell Junction, Poughquag, and Wappingers Falls.
Born on January 10, 1932 in Yonkers, Rose was the daughter of the late George and Amelia (Parente) Fox. She graduated from SUNY Potsdam with a BS in Music Education. On June 20, 1953 at Lincoln Park Community Church in Yonkers, Rose married Joseph Lewis Scott who predeceased her on January 18, 2020 after 67 years of marriage.
Rose retired as Manager and Real Estate Broker at Country Bumpkin Fishkill, Inc. and was Past President of the Dutchess County Board of Realtors. She was a certified music teacher, and was a member of County Players of Wappingers Falls. She was a lifelong member of the Aesculapius Camp.
Rose enjoyed playing scrabble, doing NY Times Crossword puzzles, gardening, and traveling. More than anything, she loved the time she spent with her family.
She is survived by her sons, Jonathan C. Scott and his wife Mara Holcomb of Greenwich, NY, Robert J. Scott and his wife Griselda of Pompton Plains, NJ, and Jeffrey A. Scott and his wife Carol of Newburgh, NY; her grandchildren, Melanie Wespestad and her husband Bjorn of Alameda, CA, Casey Scott and his wife Nicole of Fort Myers, FL, Taylor Fernandez-Moran and her husband Humberto of Raleigh, NC, and Nick Shelby of Salem, NY; and her great-grandchildren, Aksel Wespestad of Alameda, CA, Aurora Rose Wespestad of Alameda, CA, and Isabel Rose Fernandez-Moran of Raleigh, NC.
In addition to her husband and parents, Rose was also predeceased by her daughter, Leslie Shelby in 2005; her grandson, Steven Scott in 2020; and her brother, Alfred Fox in 2011.
