Rosemarie Silvestri Amico D'Antoni, 81, a resident of Yonkers and formerly of Wappingers Falls and the Bronx, died on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Westchester Medical Center.
Born in Manhattan on April 21, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Anna Rappo Silvestri. She was a parishioner of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction and was a member of the East Fishkill Republican Club and East Fishkill Republican Committee. Rosemarie had also been a member of the Assumption Society in the Bronx and the Villa Avenue Neighborhood Patrol and had worked at St. Philip Neri School. She enjoyed cooking, reading and crocheting.
Rosemarie was predeceased by her first husband, John Amico, on July 22, 1971. They were married at St. Ann's Church in Manhattan in 1949. On June 20, 1980 at St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction, Rosemarie married Felix "Dan" D'Antoni who predeceased her on June 23, 2000. She was also predeceased by her daughter-in-law Jennifer Amico on August 11, 2011.
Rosemarie is survived by her children, Joanne Burghardt and her husband Bruce of Yonkers, Angela Rufino and her husband Anthony of Wappingers Falls and John Amico of Wappingers Falls; her stepson, Peter D'Antoni and his wife Stephanie of Wappingers Falls; her grandchildren, Ashley Burghardt, Angelo Rufino, DanaRose and Jack Kosinski, John and Brandon Amico, Gloria and April D'Antoni; her sister, Jeanette Demeter of Long Island; and her sister-in-law, Concetta Amico of Yonkers. She was looking forward to the birth of her first great-granddaughter in December.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 3-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx.
