Roy E. Jorgensen

EAST FISHKILL - Roy E. Jorgensen, 86, an area resident since 1973 and formerly of Brooklyn, died peacefully on July 28, 2026 at his home.

Born in Brooklyn on August 4, 1939, he was the son of the late Einar and Alfild (Toftner) Jorgensen. Roy proudly served our country in the US Air Force and was employed as a teacher with the Wappingers Central School District at Brinckerhoff Elementary School.

Roy was a member of the East Fishkill Historical Society and was the past president of the Fishkill Historical Society.

On March 17, 1973 in Brooklyn, Roy married Rita McCann who predeceased him on September 2, 2021. He was also predeceased by his son, Frantz Jorgensen in 1979; and his brother, Eric Jorgensen. He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Terje Torp, Joyce (Pete) Power, Thomas (Ronald Harris) Meade, Theresa (Hugh) McGrane, Mary (Thomas) King, Stephen Meade, Catherine (Joe) Sullivan, Patricia (Mike) Salvato, Michael (Denine) Meade; and William (Kathleen) Meade; many great nieces and nephews and some very special friends.
