POUGHQUAG - Ruth F. Moruzzi, 86, an area resident for over 60 years, died on October 8, 2024 at the Taconic at Hopewell. She previously lived in Franklin Square, Long Island.

Born on April 14, 1938, Ruth was the daughter of the late Walter and Florence (Selhmeyer) Boernsen. On September 28, 1958 in Long Island, she married Donald M. Moruzzi who predeceased her in 2011.

Ruth retired from Texaco in Beacon where she had been employed as a secretary for many years. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School for over 25 years.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Donald and Anna Moruzzi of Carle Place, Long Island and Susan and Michael Bernardi of Poughquag; her grandchildren, Vincent, Sara, Giana, and Dominic; her sister, Janet Mantel; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., on Friday, October 11, 2024 from 12 -1 pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday at 1:30 pm at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1400 Route 52, Fishkill followed by burial at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
