Salvatore Cassaniti, 75, of LaGrangeville, NY passed away on February 28, 2013.
Mr. Cassaniti was born on December 29, 1937 to Venero and Maria (Contarino) Cassaniti in Presa, Sicily, Italy. He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary; his three loving children, Marie (Ben) Montanarello, Diane (Barry) Messinger, and Grace (Ken) Theall; his beloved sister Rose (Alfred) DiBiasi; four adoring grandchildren, Katie and Maryann Messinger, Kim and Kyle Theall; two stepchildren, Daniel (Lisa) Fisher and Deborah (Gerald) Bentley; and two step-grandchildren, Victoria and Gerard Bentley. He was predeceased by his first wife Maryann Fiorentino on March 9, 1989.
Sal owned and operated Sal's Sunoco which then became Sal's Texaco. He also enjoyed boating.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00am at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 1925 Route 82, LaGrangeville followed by entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla.
