Samantha Lynn-Gibson Brooks, 24, a lifelong resident of Fishkill, died at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh on Saturday, March 05, 2011.
Born in Poughkeepsie on April 28, 1986, she was the daughter of Leonard and Irene Schultz Brooks, who both survive at home. Samantha was currently a student at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, and had previously attended Dutchess Community College and SUNY Binghamton.
Her hobbies included painting, reading, and spending time with her friends, including her cherished dog "Kacy". She was a member of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill.
In addition to her parents Leonard and Irene, Samantha is also survived by her grandmother, Margaret Schultz of Fishkill; her aunts and uncles, William & Marta Brooks of Rock City, NY, Pamela & Gary Caldwell of Fishkill, Debra Brooks of Fishkill, James & Penny Brooks of Fishkill, and Eugene & Carol Schultz of Stone Ridge, NY; and her cousins, David, Michael, Jennifer, Gary, Robert, Emily, Melissa, James, Teddy, Joseph, and David.
She was predeceased by her grandparents, Lawrence Schultz, William & Irene Brooks and her uncle, Joseph Brooks.
Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill. Interment will follow at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
