Sam will be remembered for his determination, his passion for football and motorcycles, his love of life, and most importantly, the love he had for his family.

FISHKILL - Sam W. Blasingame, a Fishkill resident since 2010 and formerly of his hometown of Peekskill, passed away at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City on Thursday, October 1, 2026. He was 67 years old.

Born on April 7, 1959, in Valhalla, NY, Sam was the son of the late Charles and Sylvia (White) Blasingame.

On April 12, 2022, Sam married the love of his life, Nicole (Christos), who survives at home. He is also survived by his daughters, Shamikah (Joe) and Shayla (Nick) his grandchildren, Sydney and Jaden, his mother-in-law, Ruthanne, his sister-in-law, Andrea, his nieces and nephews, Kimla, Sonyra, Mikey, Alexis, Aniya, and Ava, and his beloved dog, Oreo. Sam was predeceased by his parents and by both of his siblings, Charles "Mike" and Sharon "Missy".

But above all else, Sam was a family man. He loved his family deeply and treasured the time he spent with them. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a loyal friend to those who were fortunate enough to be close to him. His family and the people he loved held a special place in his heart, and the memories he created with them will be cherished forever.

Sam was a carpenter for many years with Allwood Stillwell Stair Builders, located in Goldens Bridge, NY. He took pride in his work and was a determined man who never gave up when faced with a challenge. That same determination became one of the qualities that defined him throughout his life.

Sam had a deep passion for football, both on and off the field. One of his greatest joys was coaching, most notably for the NY Bears Semi-Pro Football Team in Beacon. He was more than a coach-he was a mentor. He encouraged those he coached to keep pushing forward and never give up. His determination and "never-give-up" attitude became something he passed on to his players and carried with him throughout his own life.

He was also a proud fan of the San Francisco 49ers. Football was a part of who Sam was and it brought him great joy throughout his life.

Another one of Sam's great joys was riding his motorcycle. He enjoyed getting out on the open road and riding. His motorcycle was more than just a hobby-it was another way he enjoyed life, freedom, and time spent doing something he loved. Sam also enjoyed trips to the casino, and he loved playing spades and showdown poker.

Sam will be remembered for his determination, his passion for football and motorcycles, his love of life, and most importantly, the love he had for his family and the close friends who meant so much to him. He leaves behind not only his family, but countless memories shared with the people whose lives he touched.
