HOPEWELL JUNCTION – Samuel J. Williams, Jr., 76, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He was a resident of the Fishkill and Hopewell Junction area for the past 31 years.

Born in Highland on April 28, 1937, he was the son of the late Samuel J. Williams, Sr. and Anita Williams. He proudly served his country in the US Navy.

On August 13, 1982 in Fishkill, he married Jeanne Broadhurst who survives at home. Samuel worked as a Sales representative for Schmidtz Wholesale in Monticello for over 25 years until his retirement. He had been the Director of the Fishkill Girl’s Softball League, a program that he started.

In addition to his loving wife of 31 years, Samuel is survived by his daughter, Donna Williams of Tampa, FL; his step-dchildren, Robin Sarles and her husband Doug of Charlotte, NC, Kelly Tripp of Gardner, Jennifer Rebaglia of Greer, SC, and Donnie Rebaglia of Charlotte, NC; his 11 grandchildren; and his brothers, David Williams and his wife Ellen and Richard Williams and his wife Elena.
