Sandra J. Bertha, 71, a resident of Fishkill for 35 years and formerly of Millbrook and Fort Ann, died on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at her home.
Born in Fort Ann on December 28, 1941, she was the daughter of Arnold and Jean Lutz. Sandy worked as a Draftswoman for Gonzer Associates in Fishkill for 10 years. She was an avid gardener of plants and flowers, and volunteered with the Sierra Club, SPCA and World Wildlife Federation.
On October 15, 1978 at the Fishkill United Methodist Church, Sandy married Edward Bertha who survives at home. She is also survived by her mother, Jean Lutz of Fort Ann; her daughters, Teresa Egitto and her husband Joseph of LaGrange, Suzanne Marsella and her husband Raymond of Pleasant Valley and Christine Bertha of New Jersey; her grandchildren, Christopher and Alyssa Cuzzola, Victoria and Vincenzo Marsella; her sisters, Mary Lutz of Fort Ann and Martha Callahan and her husband Brian of Fort Ann; and numerous aunts and uncles.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 12-1pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will follow at 1pm.
