EAST FISHKILL – Sandra E. Schmidt, 81, a resident of Fernandina Beach, FL, died on April 17, 2022 at the University of Florida Medical Center in Jacksonville.

Born in Stamford, NY on August 1, 1940, she was the daughter of Kenneth and Virginia (Plumley) Dean. Sandra had been employed as a Senior Representative for Blue Cross Blue Shield in Yorktown Heights. She was a member of the East Fishkill Seniors.

On May 6, 1989 in Hastings-on-Hudson, Sandra married George C. Schmidt, Jr. who predeceased her on November 15, 2016. Sandra is survived by her children, Teresa Robinson, Thomas (Colleen) Robinson, Robert Robinson Jr. and Kimberly Robinson, six grandchildren, Timothy, Scott, Marisa, Luke, Jake, and Shane, 4 great-grandchildren, 3 step-children, and 4 step-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Harry Dean. Her brother William Dean, and her sister, V. Mary Dean predeceased her in recent years.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 1-4pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be held on Monday at 11am at the funeral home followed by entombment in the Community Mausoleum at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
