Saverio S. "Sonny" Tenuta, 61, died on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Memorial Sloan Cancer Center in Manhattan.
Sonny was born in New York City on September 17, 1953. He was a parishioner of St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, and was the owner of Sonny's Restaurant and Pizzeria in Lagrangeville.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Millie DeGuardia; his mother, Antonia (DelliCarpini) Tenuta; his sister, Roe Ruffolo and her husband Aldo; his goddaughter/niece, Toni Ann Ruffolo; his stepdaughter, Lynne Maietta; his step-grandchildren, Briana and L.J. Maietta; and many cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Cesare Tenuta, in 2006.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 9: 30 am at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 1925 Route 82, Lagrangeville followed by entombment at St. Raymond Cemetery in the Bronx.
