WAPPINGERS FALLS - Scott Lurowist, 61, an area resident since 1968, died on May 14, 2025, at home. He previously lived in Harrisburg, PA.

Scott was born on April 21, 1964, in Annapolis, MD to Ruby (Church) Lurowist and the late Jack Lurowist who predeceased him in 2008. He proudly served in the Air National Guard. He was employed as a computer programmer for many years.

He earned his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from RIT where he played rugby, and earned his master's degree from Marist in computer programming.

Scott enjoyed playing the guitar. He was fluent in Russian and had traveled there several times. He was also learning the Ukrainian language. Scott liked the QVC Channel and especially enjoyed watching "In the Kitchen with David".

He is survived by his mother, Ruby Lurowist; his sister, Kelly Lurowist; his aunts and uncles, Ned and Nancy Lurowist and Linda and Robert Landefeld; and many cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, May 18th from 2 - 5 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 10 am followed by burial at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
