Selenia Delgado

Selenia Delgado, a resident of Wappingers Falls since 1997, passed away peacefully at home on October 26, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was 75 years old.

Born on September 14, 1951, in San German, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Ramon and Filomena (Santiago) Acosta. Selenia married the love of her life, Reynaldo Delgado, on December 31, 1974, in the Bronx, NY. Together, they built a life centered on love, family, and the many special moments they shared. Reynaldo sadly predeceased her on July 1, 2026.

For 17 years, Selenia worked as a housekeeper at the Helmsley Middletowne Hotel in Manhattan, where she dedicated herself to her work with the same care and attention she brought to everything she did.

Above all else, Selenia cherished being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family was the center of her world, and she found her greatest happiness in taking care of those she loved. She enjoyed cooking and bringing people together around the table, welcoming friends into her home, and sharing the warmth and hospitality that made everyone feel welcome. She was one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Her faith was also an important part of her life, and she found joy in preaching and sharing her beliefs with others.

Selenia knew how to appreciate life's simple pleasures, whether spending time with family and friends or relaxing on the beach with the Florida crew, enjoying a glass of wine and watching the sunset. These moments, filled with laughter, friendship, and togetherness, were among the many things that made life special to her.

Selenia leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love through her three sons, Reynaldo (Aracely) Delgado, Steven Delgado, and Danny Delgado, and her beloved grandchildren, Selena Delgado, Lysandra Delgado, Daniella Delgado, Kristina Delgado, and Danny "Dan Dan" Delgado, who brought her tremendous joy and pride. She is also survived by her siblings, Heriberto Acosta, Enrique Acosta, David Acosta, and Minerva Acosta; along with many nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory. She will also be dearly missed by her beloved dog, Keepsie, who was a special part of her family.

Selenia will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her generous heart, her love of bringing people together, and the faith that guided her throughout her life. Though her passing leaves a tremendous void in the hearts of those who loved her, the memories she created, the traditions she shared, and the love she gave so freely will live on in her family for generations to come.
